Join our Virtual Choir!

In Uncategorized by Dan Beauchamp / May 29, 2020 / 0 Comments

Joey and Barbara Lowrance and Harris Beauchamp are organizing a virtual recorded singing of this year’s theme song and everyone is welcome to join in!

Click here to follow this link to a Google Drive Folder. In that folder you will find instructions for recording, a pdf of the music, a guide video to watch while you sing. There are also part folders. Once you have recorded your video, drop it in the correct voice part folder.

We need these to be done by June 12 to give Harris enough time to edit them all together.

Have fun!

2020 Session Decision

In Uncategorized by Dan Beauchamp / May 19, 2020 / 0 Comments

The Board of Trustees has, after much discussion and prayer, chosen to cancel this year’s session of Harmony Hill Singing School.

Many factors have contributed to this difficult decision, ranging from lack of preparation time to concerns with government guidelines; there is no one reason for the cancellation of this year’s session. We won’t attempt to discuss all of those issues here. However, we want you to know that the Board of Trustees made this decision peacefully, after weeks of prayerful deliberation, and in a spirit of love for the work, traditions, and community of Harmony Hill Singing School.

Our culture’s response to the pandemic has become increasingly divided. It is our heartfelt wish that this spirit of divisiveness not be allowed a foothold in our beloved Harmony Hill community. We understand that some may be disappointed or disagree with this decision, but we ask that you cherish and protect our fellowship as a community and refrain from fruitless criticism or debate. We have every confidence that this request will be honored willingly.

Thank you to each one of you for your kindness and patience as the Board of Trustees has deliberated. We know it has been inconvenient and frustrating not to know the plan for this long, and we are all deeply saddened to miss this year’s session of Harmony Hill. In the coming months, the trustees will be meeting more often than usual to discuss and prepare for any changes we may need to make for next year’s session.

Apart from our personal sadness, cancelling singing school also creates an uncomfortable financial situation for Harmony Hill. It takes about $10,000 per year to maintain the campground and pay bills and taxes. This is factored into the suggested registration amount—in other words, your registration donation doesn’t just cover the week of singing school, it helps cover operating expenses for the entire year. We have many times witnessed with gratitude the generosity of the friends of Harmony Hill—as you are led and are able, please consider donating this year despite the cancellation to ensure that the campground’s baseline expenses can be met. You can donate via PayPal or mail from harmonyhillsingingschool.org/donate.

We love you, we pray for you, and we love and pray for the precious churches you represent. While we can’t gather to sing praises at singing school this year, may we yet be renewed in love and gratitude for the blessing of worshipping in our local congregations. This, after all, has always been the primary mission of Harmony Hill Singing School.

In hope for next year,

The Board of Trustees

Decision delayed until May 18

In Uncategorized by Dan Beauchamp / May 9, 2020 / 0 Comments
After much prayer and discussion, we have decided to delay until May 18 our decision on whether to cancel the 2020 session, when Texas Governor Greg Abbott will be announcing details on further phased reopening, with expectation that this will include some details specific to summer camps.
If we do hold the session as planned it will mean a lot of preparation in a short amount of time and it would help to know now how many people will be attending.
We have made online registration available strictly for this purpose and ask that you register this week if you would plan to attend. To prevent any confusion we have removed the ability to donate from the registration form – you can submit your registration donation separately using the Donate page if we decide to hold the session.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this decision.

Harmony Hill 2020 | Session 67

In Uncategorized by Dan Beauchamp / April 14, 2020 / 0 Comments

Lord willing, the 67th annual session of Harmony Hill Singing School will be held June 14-19, 2020.

The theme for this year’s session is The Importance of the Word of God.

The theme song is #154 in the Primitive Baptist Hymnal, “How Firm a Foundation.”

The memory verse is 2 Peter 1:19 – “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.”

Friends, we all find ourselves in an unprecedented situation this year, and as Trustees have had to consider the very real possibility that we will be unable to hold this year’s session out of discretion or in compliance with government restrictions related to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Given the uncertainty of each week so far it is impossible at this point to know how the situation might change by June, so we have decided to make a decision no later than May 9th about whether to keep or cancel this year’s session, and will wait until then to open registration.

It is such a strange thing to consider the possibility of a year without Harmony Hill. But no matter what happens, our God is in the heavens and hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. Our Savior rules with all power in heaven and in earth. None of this has taken Him by surprise. None of it has in the slightest disrupted his sovereign rule. We rest in his unchanging person and unfailing grace.

Elder Andrew Beauchamp of Subiaco, Arkansas has agreed to bring our devotional messages this year. Please pray for the Lord to bless him with his Spirit as he prepares. Pray for each other, and pray for the Lord to continue to bless Harmony Hill. We hope to see each of you this year.

In Uncategorized by Dan Beauchamp / April 24, 2018 / 0 Comments

“God of Love, O hear our prayer.”

The 65th annual session of Harmony Hill Singing School will be held June 10-15, 2018.

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Lord has blessed us beyond all that we could ask or imagine to gather, sing, pray, and worship with those He sends each year to the hill. He blesses us with His Spirit and ministers to each of us as we spend a week away from the cares of the world. We encourage all who attend to “unplug” and devote the week to the Word and the blessings of fellowship with kindred in Christ. Oh, how we need to draw nigh unto God in this restless time.

The theme for this year’s session is “Humble Yourself.” The memory verse is James 4:12 – “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” The theme song is #414 in the Primitive Baptist Hymnal, “God of Love.”

Online registration is open and we appreciate your taking care of this by Monday, May 21 as we purchase food and paper supplies based on registration. If you experience online registration problems, please email Dan Beauchamp, dkbeauchamp@gmail.com.

We have made some small adjustments to the schedule, so please refer to the website for registration and guidelines. There is also a new CD in the mailed registration information that has a special pre-order opportunity.

Your registration is your pledge to follow the guidelines.

If you live in the area and can join in the physical preparation, please join us for one of the scheduled workdays.

Name tags may be picked up Sunday afternoon about 3PM followed by an evening meal and assembly at 7. General Assembly and devotional starts at 8AM Monday morning, followed by buddy and class assignments.

It is our fervent prayer that the week of singing school brings glory and honor to God and that each of you receives blessings specific to your needs. We look forward to seeing each of you.

Helen Denman Beauchamp

In Uncategorized by Dan Beauchamp / September 16, 2016 / 2 Comments

Our dear sister in Christ and beloved friend, Helen Denman Beauchamp, co-founder with her father of Harmony Hill Singing School, has passed from this life and into glory. She knows in complete fulness now what she has known in prospect for many decades—that the rich blessings we have experienced together while worshipping God in singing are truly just a foretaste, just a shadow of the glory that awaits God’s people in the presence of Christ.

We give God great thanks for her many labors on behalf of Harmony Hill through 60 years, and for her tireless example of devotion to his kingdom.

Harmony Hill 63rd Session

In Uncategorized by Dan Beauchamp / April 20, 2016 / 0 Comments

Have you begun to anticipate our annual singing school, rapidly approaching?  In the chaos of daily living does your heart long for the fellowship, the singing, the worship of God amidst the kindred souls who come together at the place called Harmony Hill?

As you make plans to join us, please pray diligently for all those responsible for preparation of the facilities, for gathering groceries and supplies, for supervising activities and classes, and pray that God will be in our midst throughout all.  We desire to do all to the glory of God.

Our world seems overwhelmed with dangers and temptations combined with a severe lack of competent leadership and wisdom.

The theme for this year’s session is “Fight the Good Fight”.

The theme scripture is I Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

The theme song is #350 in our Primitive Baptist Hymnal, “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand”.

Although our new auditorium is not yet ready for occupancy, we were able to have the ceiling insulation applied.  The next step will be to install windows and doors.  We hope to soon post on our website the progress and planning of the continuation of the project, with estimated costs for each step, enabling you to keep abreast of the needs for completion.

The document posted under “News” on the website, “an honest look at our financial needs”, although posted last year, is continually appropriate for the support of Harmony Hill.  Your prayer support and financial support are needed at all times.  As you begin planning for the upcoming session, be sure to pre-register using our website prior to May 23rd.  Do not fail to become familiar with all our Guidelines, also posted.  Your registration indicates your pledge to follow the guidelines.

Scheduled work days, preparing for singing school, are posted on the website.  Anyone able to help will be welcome.

Verification of attendance will begin about 3 PM Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2016.  An evening meal will be served, and a brief assembly will be enjoyed about 7 PM.  Classes will begin Monday morning, June 13th following our 8 AM devotional and assembly.

We look forward to seeing each of you.
